Created by a Yale-trained Certified Nurse Midwife and Women's Health Nurse Practitioner.
A place for your questions
Pregnancy care is understandably centered on the pregnant person. But partners are part of the experience too—and it's easy to feel one step behind.
Maybe you couldn't make it to the last prenatal visit. Maybe your partner came home after a care conversation and you're trying to understand what changed. Maybe you have questions of your own but don't want to add to their stress. Or maybe birth is approaching and no one has ever explained what you're actually supposed to do once labor starts.
I missed the appointment—can someone catch me up?
What did the care team mean when they said that?
I have questions, but I don't want to make my partner more anxious.
What is my role once we're in the labor room?
You don't need to become a pregnancy expert. You just need a trusted place to ask the questions you actually have.
Real reasons someone might book
“My partner told me what the care team said, but I still don’t really understand what’s going on.”
“Something changed in my partner’s pregnancy and I’m trying to understand what the care team told us.”
“We're first-time parents. I don't really know what I'm supposed to do in the labor room—or how I can be helpful.”

Clear boundaries
Compass Maternal provides educational consulting and maternity navigation only. Services are not medical care and do not create a provider-patient relationship. Medical decisions should be made with the pregnant person's treating healthcare professionals. For urgent medical concerns, contact the treating clinical team or seek appropriate emergency care.
